What are your top recommendations for transitional wardrobe items to seamlessly move from summer to fall?

My top recommendations for a seamless transition from summer to fall include lightweight cashmere sweaters to layer over shirts, versatile coats like denim jackets, neutral colors and textures like suede, and plenty of layering pieces that can be easily worn or removed as the temperature changes throughout the day.

As we head into fall, what are a few must-have accessories to elevate any outfit?

When it comes to accessories, I love adding different belts to dress up a simple outfit. My go-to is the Khaite Benny Belt which, in my opinion, is 100% worth the investment. I have gotten so much use out of it and wear it nearly every day. I have also been eyeing the Madewell Studded Belt that looks very similar to the Khaite one, but without the price tag.

When it comes to bags, I love oversized totes. Some of my favorites include the Little Liffner Sprout Tote in suede and the Dragon Diffusion Santa Croce. This suede Madewell Bucket Tote is on my fall wishlist!

Which colors and textures are ideal for bridging the seasonal gap?

To seamlessly transition from summer to fall, I like to stick with warm, neutral colors such as tan, brown, black and white while incorporating textures such as suede, denim, leather, etc. that make for the perfect transitional look.

Which types of outerwear do you find to be most versatile for transitioning between warm days and cooler nights?

Light cashmere sweaters are perfect for layering during transitional weather.  I love wearing one in the mornings or evenings when it is a bit chilly and then draping it over my shoulders throughout the day when it gets a bit warmer. The same goes for blazers – I love wearing a tee or tank underneath it when it’s warm during the day, and then draping a blazer over my shoulders in the evening.

What adjustments do you recommend for a skincare and makeup routine, such as incorporating hydrating serums or richer moisturizers, to prep the skin for cooler weather?

I recommend adding lots of moisturizing skincare and makeup products into your routine. Living in Chicago, the air gets super cold and dry. I have relied on the Tata Harper Water-Lock Moisturizer for over a year now and I continue to repurchase it. It’s lightweight and gives my skin a lovely, moisturized glow. I also use the Regenerating Cleanser from Tata Harper at the end of the day to exfoliate – it leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean. When it comes to makeup, some of my favorite brands are Westman Atelier and Merit for their clean, natural formulas.

What is your one go-to transitional piece or product—whether it’s a versatile coat, a pair of classic loafers, or a cream blush—that helps you feel chic and prepared, no matter the season?

My go-to transitional accessory hands down are my Freda Salvador Penny Loafers. I always have my Rhode Pocket Blush or Merit Flush Balm on hand for a quick touch-up if I’m meeting a friend for dinner after work.

What are some fall trends you’re seeing and how do you suggest incorporating trends while still keeping a timeless and classic style?

I am a strong advocate of a staple wardrobe and believe that less is more. I always believe investing in high-quality pieces pays off in the long run. This fall, I’ll be reintroducing many of the same items from last year, including suede jackets, cashmere sweaters, button-downs, penny loafers and boots, however some trends I’m excited to experiment with are textured accessories, pops of red, and denim jackets.

Lastly, tell us your top three SecondsPls picks.

I love this question. My favorite place in the world is Villa di Piazzano in Cortona, Italy. I had the pleasure of staying there last May and it is the most charming hotel.  It has so much history and character and the property is just stunning.

My favorite restaurant in the world has to be Osteria delle Tre Panche in Florence, Italy. I am a big fan of anything with truffles, especially pasta, and this restaurant is famous for its truffle dishes. The cheesecake is also the best I've ever had.

One of the best parts of living in Chicago is the food scene, and I am always trying new spots. My favorite is Trivoli Tavern– it has a charming, cozy, European feel and the food is incredible.
